Overview
An HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to read technical diagrams, and compliance with European safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ventilation systems, heat pumps, and refrigeration equipment.
Diagnose and repair faults in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of HVAC units.
Check and recharge refrigerants according to environmental regulations (e.g., F-Gas standards).
Read, interpret, and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
Install and connect electrical components and control systems for HVAC equipment.
Test system performance and ensure proper airflow, temperature control, and efficiency.
Replace defective parts such as compressors, motors, fans, filters, and thermostats.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and other technicians.
Qualifications
Previous experience as an HVAC or refrigeration technician.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and diagnostic tools.
Ability to read and work with technical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with European standards for refrigeration gases and environmental safety.
Knowledge of electrical systems related to HVAC equipment.
Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, outdoors).
Strong troubleshooting and technical skills.
Optional Requirements (Depending on Country)
Valid work permit for the target European country.
F-Gas certification (or equivalent EU-recognized refrigerant handling certificate).
HVAC/technical diploma or recognized vocational training.
Driver’s license.
